Little research has been done to demonstrate the frequency or effect of children participating with parents in support communication. In our illustration, children were present during some of the communications, mostly listening in to the conversation. , 2009). Findings from our feasibility study and the Family Journeys Study indicated that the method of using seven consecutive daily diaries was adequate to capture a variety of communication modes involving support exchanges in real time.
