Other stUdies (Ellinor, 1969; Tietze, 1970; Wajntraub, 1970; Zipper, 1971; Tatum, 1975; Erickson, 1976; Kaye, 1977; Sakurabayaski, 1977; Vessey, 1978) reported a return to fertility after discontinuing IUD use that is similar to the return to fertility after discontinuing use of a diaphragm. There was no nausea or dizziness reported with IUD use. IUDs have another advantage in that they can be used for interception up to 6 days after unprotected coitus, while estrogens are not effective after 3 days (Board, 1970, Kuchera, 1971; Lehfldt, 1973; Morris and VanWagenen, 1973; Lippes, 1976; Lippes, 1979).
