Teacher The teacher will give feedback on the characters created and the kind of stories that they may have. Is there potential for a new story that the class could create together using these new characters and a different setting? Outcomes: All Pupils Will: Choose/create a character and be able to describe what it looks like. Most Pupils Will: Be able to describe what their characters thinks/feels/likes. Some Pupils Will: Be able to empathise with their character and see the story from their perspective.

If, for example, I’m going to tell a story about a king I start by asking them questions. What does a king do? Where does he live? What does he wear? These are prompts to my story which encourage the class to build up a picture of the main character. I explain that in storytelling we hold the story in our head. We do not write it down, instead the story flows using whatever words we feel necessary at the time. This allows us to be flexible, and use our imaginations. I like to reinforce the idea that in storytelling you can go anywhere you choose to go, there are no limits or barriers.
