Heidegger and Marcuse: The Catastrophe and Redemption of History
This brief booklet contrasts the philosophies of expertise of Heidegger and Marcuse, one in all Heidegger's megastar students, and relates their paintings to modern expertise reports. Feenberg units out the historic and theoretical historical past of the controversy, then discusses each one philosopher's conception in flip, and ends with an immense research of the consequences for modern know-how stories.

A number of such processes occur in the oxidation of benzene to phenol. Benzene is one of the most difficult hydrocarbons to oxidize. The stability of the benzene nucleus towards molecular oxygen arises mainly because of the high energy of the C— H bonds in the hydrocarbon molecule (102 kcal/mole). Oxidations in the vapour phase proceed at a signifi cant rate only in the temperature range 600-700°. Under these conditions 26 THE OXIDATION OF HYDROCARBONS IN THE LIQUID PHASE a very small quantity of phenol is produced together with very large quantities of complete combustion products (CO, C 0 2 and water) and resins.
